Heel pain is a sensation of pain in one or both heels. Pain may arise during sport or afterwards at rest. The pain may arise in various places around the heel area, for example, on the inner side of the heel or the back of the heel or the central portion. In children heel pain is usually down to the growth plate becoming irritated this is called calaneal apophosytis / or sever's disease. In adults the most commonest cause of pain is plantar fasciitis.
