Foot blisters are an unpleasant occurrence for many people. But have you ever considered what might be the cause? A few things in your shoes can lead to discomforts, such as an exposed seam or a tight fit. With a new pair of trainers, you can sometimes also experience rubbing on the top of your heel, which can cause a blister.
Resist the urge to put on any old socks for your workout. Moisture-wicking socks will keep your feet dry and help prevent them from smelling. You can also apply antiperspirants or talcum powder to your feet as a way to eliminate odour-causing bacteria. Toughening the skin on your feet is essential, with a gradual increase in distance you cover. And moisturising heels when they're dry will help with moisture intake.
In order to stop blistering from forming on your feet, you can use moleskin or sports tape to protect any sore area from the constant walking. Your local podiatrist can provide you with helpful advice and products to ensure that you have a blister-free trip!
Foot blisters develop because of tight or ill-fitting shoes that rub against your skin for too long. This can happen when you wear shoes that are too tight for your feet, or shoes that are the wrong size. When purchasing new shoes, you should always measure your feet to ensure that your feet haven't changed size and ensure they fit correctly.
Blisters form on the skin when there is too much friction, and fluid builds up under the skin. Painful redness around the blister is an indication it has become infected. To stop the infection from spreading, wash and cover the blister with a protective layer like a plaster and apply some sterilising cream.
A blister is a dry, raised area of skin that can happen anywhere on your feet. Blisters often occur due to friction and pressure against the skin. This friction and pressure can come from shoes, tight socks, or moisture and humidity in your footwear.
If a blister happens, make sure to take care of it. Cleanse and disinfect the area and dry it thoroughly to prevent any further inspection. You should also cover it with a Band-Aid. Band-Aids provide a barrier between your skin and the blister, giving it some protection and preventing it from coming into contact with clothing or other things that might irritate it further. It should also go without saying that you should definitely not pop a blister.
